GUILLARD VS MILLER
UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller (also known as UFC on FX 1) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on January 20, 2012 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The event will be the second to be broadcast as part of a seven year agreement between the UFC and Fox, and the inaugural event to air on FX.
A featherweight bout between Charles Oliveira and Robert Peralta was briefly linked to this event, but it was later confirmed that Oliveira would instead be facing Eric Wisely a week later at UFC on Fox: Evans vs. Davis.
Rafaello Oliveira was expected to fight Reza Madadi at the event. However, after a hand injury, Oliveira pulled out of the bout and was replaced by Fabrício Camões.Madadi would later withdraw from the bout due to injury as well and was replaced by promotional newcomer Tommy Hayden.
Mike Brown was expected to face Vagner Rocha, but was forced out of the bout with an injury. Rocha will instead face Jonathan Brookins at UFC on Fuel TV 1.
Ken Stone was expected to fight Mike Easton at this event, but was forced from the bout due to injury and replaced by promotional newcomer Jared Papazian.
UFC newcomer Ryan Jimmo was expected to face Karlos Vemola at this event, but the bout was cancelled after Jimmo fell injured a week prior to the event.
The preliminary card will air on Fuel TV.
Houston fighter Daniel Pineda (4oz Fight Club) was added to the card on January 10, 2012 and will be making his UFC debut against fellow debuting fighter Pat Schilling.

Two heavyweights with their backs against the wall will duke it out this Friday night (January 20, 2012) as fan favorite Pat Barry takes on Christian Morecraft in the opening bout of the first free show of the year, UFC on FX: "Guillard vs. Miller," in Nashville.
Pat Barry has won over the fans with both his fighting style and great personality, but the results have been mixed in the cage. He's yet to put together two consecutive victories in the UFC and is now coming off two straight losses in his last two fights. He likely needs a strong performance on Friday night if he wants to remain employed.

Christian Morecraft has also had a very up and down UFC career, however brief it may be. After two strong showings in his first two fights, he was crushed by Matt Mitrione this past summer, resulting in a second round knockout. He will need to impose his will against "Hype or Die" to prove he belongs in the promotion.

Will Barry return to form with a blistering knockout of his bigger but slower opponent? Can Morecraft take advantage of his opponent's deficiencies on the canvas? How does each man earn a victory on Friday night?

Spike TV will celebrate the career of one of mixed martial arts' most exciting fighters, Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard, with a five hour primetime "UFC Unleashed: Melvin Guillard" marathon on Friday, January 20 (7:00pm-12:00 Midnight ET/4:00pm-9:00pm PT). Guillard, a standout member of "The Ultimate Fighter 2" in 2005, has had an array of exciting fights throughout his career.

The UFC's huge broadcast deal with Fox means that the bulk of live UFC coverage has now moved from Spike to the FX and Fuel networks. The first live card to air on FX will take place on Friday, January 20th in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena (as the poster above helpfully points out). The main event will see two top lightweight contenders looking to get back in the win column as Jim Miller will face off with Melvin Guillard. This will only be a three-round fight, despite Dana White stating last year that all main events will be five rounds. The prelims will be aired on Fuel after all.
